Florida Homeschooling: What You Need to Know to Get Started

There are two ways to start your Florida homeschool journey:

  1. Sign up under an umbrella school
  2. Sign up with your county

To take a look at the official Florida State homeschool page, click HERE.  You will find lots of information and learn all the legal requirements for homeschooling in the Sunshine State.

Those who live in Polk County will find excellent information HERE and HERE.

Lake County residents need to visit THIS PAGE.

Osceola residents will want to check out their COUNTY’S WEBSITE for the appropriate information.

Orange county families need to go HERE for homeschooling facts in their county.

At the end of the academic school year, you may have your student complete standardized testing or have them assessed by a Florida-certified teacher who will review their homeschool portfolio from the year.

We hope these links, along with the information Rebekah provides in the above video answer some of the questions you have about homeschooling.

If you have any other questions, you may leave a comment below and we will get back to you as soon as possible.  You may also give our office a call at 863-226-4000 to set up a phone appointment with Rebekah for specific questions you may have.
